Asbury Park Homes

I can name a few points to get your thoughts started. I know this is a great deal of points, I just want to see if we have any more noteworthy ones. I recently started to get to know New Jersey, and I’m reaching out to the online world to extend that familiarity.

- New Jersey along with Oregon require all motor vehicle gas stations statewide to operate full-service.

- Six Flags Great Adventure has the highest attendance of any Six Flags park, not to mention Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster.

- New Jersey is widely covered in the media these days, especially on reality television.

- Boardwalks, Wawa, jughandles and The Sopranos are New Jersey trademarks.

- New Jersey is the nation’s most densely populated state (if DC is not considered state-equivalent in this count). It’s 13 times the US average!

- New Jersey is the only state where all of its counties are classified as metropolitan areas. Nearly 95% of the state population lives within an urban area.

- New Meadowlands Stadium is the only NFL stadium home to two teams on one field.

- New Jersey has the most dense system of highways and roads of any U.S. state with 38,835 miles.

- New Jersey has the most diners in the world and is sometimes referred to as the diner capital of the world.

- New Jersey has over 50 resort cities and towns, especially on the 127 mile iconized "Jersey Shore", including some of the nation’s most famous, Asbury Park, Wildwood, Atlantic City, Seaside Heights and Cape May.

- Jack Nicholson, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Redman, Das EFX, Naughty by Nature, Sugar Hill Gang, Lords of the Underground, Jason Alexander, Queen Latifa, Shaq, Judy Blume, Arron Burr, Whitney Houston, Eddie Money, Frank Sinatra, Grover Cleveland, all New Jersey natives.

- New Jersey has the largest statewide public transit system, New Jersey Transit. It is most popular for providing convenient trips connecting from the SEPTA Trenton Transit Center and New York Penn Station.

- The state of New Jersey is getting a significant amount of attention from reality television since only recently, most notably Jersey Shore, which has broken the record for its highest rated show of all time on MTV.

- New Jersey’s geography is very unique, it is directly across the border from both Philadelphia and New York City, making it the center of the Northeast Corridor.

- Atlantic City is where the street names came from for the game Monopoly (although there have been updated versions recently).

- The first baseball game was played in Hoboken. It’s now the great American sport.

- Atlantic City has the first and longest boardwalk in the world.

- Picturesque Cape May holds the distinction of being the oldest seashore resort in the United States and one of the most unique.

The more detail you include, the more likely your answer is going to be chosen as best! Just be as helpful as possible by being detailed! Thanks!

Most toxic waste dumps. Run buy the fattest and most arrogant governor in the United States.

And if they gave up the sex because of who they thought he was, then that’s THEIR fault: "Ryan Ward, 29, an unemployed Asbury Park resident, says he used the striking resemblance to reach home plate with women as many as 100 times since he began stealing the fireballer’s identity in June.
"Well, I hooked up with over 62 at least," he said, making reference to Chamberlain’s number. "I got slapped a few times and yelled at, too, but I’d say there were about 20 or 30 of them who had no idea who I really was."
Even women who knew Ward wasn’t really a Yankee often played along anyway, he said.
"Some of them found it amusing. Some of them didn’t even care," he said.
One conquest became so angry upon learning his true identity that she slugged him on the arm hard enough to leave a nasty bruise, Ward said."

No it shouldn’t be illegal. Women who are shallow enough to bang a guy just because they THINK he’s rich and famous are pathetic. They deserve what they get. What if some guy told a woman that his name was john when really it was Dave… and then she sleeps with him. Should that be illegal? Does it make it rape? I think not. It’s the same thing. The guy just used a name that the women recognized and spread their legs for.

      People are so weird!

Anti-alien protest in Lakewood called off

      Organizer cites safety concerns
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 08/16/07
      BY ZACH PATBERG
      TOMS RIVER BUREAU

LAKEWOOD — The organizer of a scheduled rally against illegal immigration has canceled the event, deciding there was not enough security to protect the crowd and speakers.

Diane Reeves of Lakewood, who planned the protest for Aug. 25 at the town square on Clifton Avenue, pointed to rumors that such gangs as MS 13 and the Latin Kings, as well as some out-of-town militant groups, would disrupt the rally. That, coupled with the conflict that occurred at a similar protest last month in Morristown, convinced Reeves that the handful of officers Police Chief Robert Lawson promised to provide would not be enough protection.

"I was nervous that if something happened, what were we supposed to do?" Reeves said.

She and other rally supporters voiced resentment that the township had not agreed to assign more members of its 125-strong police force. They pointed to Morristown, which supplied a strong police presence at the protest over the same issue in late July. Five people were ar-rested and two were slightly injured at that event.

"I was very upset when I heard," said Carmen Morales, vice chairwoman of the advocacy group You Don’t Speak For Me, who was supposed to speak at the rally. "I feel Lakewood is like a sanctuary for illegal immigrants . . . and (the police) seem to protect them."

      Officials relieved

Mayor Raymond Coles stressed that the Morristown rally was municipally sponsored, as opposed to the privately organized one in Lakewood. Lawson said he could not justify taking more officers off patrol duty, and the township could not afford the overtime.

Beyond that, Coles and Lawson agreed with Reeves’ decision to cancel.

"I’m relieved," Lawson said. "Lakewood has a large number of undocumented residents . . . and now you’re going to have a group in the center of town speaking out against illegal aliens. So it’s possible there’d be friction between the two factions that could lead to confrontation."

Coles said, "This is a very emotional, heated issue and bringing two very emotional groups together might cause problems."

Estimates of the number of illegal immigrants in Lakewood range from 5,000 to 20,000. A 2006 estimate by the U.S. Census bureau put the township’s population at almost 70,000.

Lawson added that it was common for organizers to pay for off-duty police officers as protection at rallies. The Lakewood rally was expected to draw up to 500 people and was to have five speakers, including two family members of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Reeves, who has never organized a rally before, now plans to find an indoor venue in another town to hold the protest, saying that since the cancellation she has heard from angry supporters offering contributions toward the cost of a demonstration.

"Look at the 100,000 illegals getting protection to march down the street everywhere else," she said. "But me, a citizen, has no right because of safety issues."

Just another example of the liberals protecting the illegal scumbags. If that town had any real intestinal fortitude, it would round up all the illegal scumbags, and ship them back to the garbage-dump of a country they came from. Then there wouldn’t be any need of a rally. Problem solved.

Ocean City is a Jersey Shore beach resort that sets itself apart from other beachfront towns in going all out to insure that its reputation as “America’s Greatest Family Resort” is true to its motto. Its heritage is deep rooted in Christian values. Alcohol sales are prohibited and there are no bars or nightclubs. The attractions along the boardwalk are controlled by the city to insure they are safe, secure, and provide wholesome family fun, at a modest cost.

Located 65 miles from Philadelphia, and 125 miles from New York City, it attracts family vacationers from the tri-sate area looking for a family destination with lots of wholesome fun.

This family resort destination has many attractions and accommodations that are family oriented and reasonably priced. Lodging including motels, bed and breakfasts, hotels, and vacation home rentals; family oriented restaurants, both sit in and take-out; shopping, including clothing, t-shirts, souvenirs, and antiques; and of course its beautiful beach and fun filled boardwalk.

The boardwalk — 50 feet in width, 2 1/2 miles long, has many eateries, taffy and fudge shops, and a large amusement pier, Gillian’s Wonderland Pier, with a 140 foot Ferris wheel, kiddie cars, roller coasters, a miniature golf course and a water park.

In the early morning, the boardwalk is frequented by joggers and bikers, and as afternoon approaches, they begin to attract many teenagers, and by evening, the families dominate.

Ocean City has a long history of music and summer concerts with the Music Pier, a noted landmark on the boardwalk, being the venue of distinction. In the summer, the Music Pier is the home of the Ocean City Pops orchestra providing quality entertainment with many soloist artists appearing from the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra.

The beach is eight miles long, well-maintained and safely monitored; Beach fees and badges are required.

On rainy days you have a choice of things to do. You can visit the Bayside Center to see a museum and models of ships. With three floors of bay view front porches, it’s a great place to view the sunset. Or you can take in a movie at the Strand theatre on the where they show G, PG and PG-13 movies.

Looking for a cultural alternative to the boardwalk? Visit the Ocean City Arts Center , they have arts classes, exhibitions, crafts shows, and other events.

There are also has many annual family events including the century old Baby Parade, the popular A Night in Venice, and the Miss New Jersey Pageant.

Being a family destination, it is not surprising taht there is a wide variety of moderately priced family restaurants that are child friendly. Most restaurants are found along the boardwalk and on Asbury Avenue. However, if you are looking for a fine dining experience, you are not likely to find it in Ocean City. For gourmet food, you can hop on the parkway north about 20 minutes to Atlantic City or south about 30 minutes to Cape May for a wide choice of fine dining restaurants.

Interested in Ocean City history? Take a walk through the historic district and visit the brick Tabernacle on Wesley Ave. It’s the location of Ocean city’s first house of worship, a wooden tabernacle that was destroyed by a hurricane in 1944. Take a walk along the 300 block of Central Avenue and see the large 100 year old Victorian style homes, or the New Brighton Inn circa 1882, on Fifth St, home of one of the city founders Rev. William Burrell. It is known as the “marrying house” because of the many weddings he performed there.
